I can’t believe April is coming to a close, the trees are blooming and spring is here. I can never decide which season is my favorite as I love them all! Just when I start becoming partial to one, another season comes along and blows me away with beauty. Right now I am really loving spring, but of course that may change once summer rolls around.
Although my love for each season varies, May Day has always been one of my favorite holidays to celebrate. How could I not love a holiday that encourages thoughtfulness, surprises and giving? Those are my loves in a nut shell! It kind of sneaks up on people each year, which makes it even more fun to surprise friends and families with little goodies. Celebrating May Day does not take anything extravagant — just the initiative to let someone know you are thinking of them. It is like the epitome of encouraging someone “just because.”
As I was thinking of what to include in this year’s May Day baskets, the Target dollar section caught my eye. Let’s be real, though, when does it not catch my eye and my money these days? There are so many cute, practical goodies that can be put together to make your own May Day basket. I personally went for a spring themed basket, it is May 1st after all, and compiled everything pastel colored. I filled my May Day baskets with a set of cards and stationary, floral pencils, a daisy grow kit and two kinds of chocolate (can’t go wrong with chocolate)! All in all the whole May Day basket cost less than $10.
May Day is coming up this Sunday, May 1st. Write your friend a card, bring your mom flowers, leave a basket behind your neighbor’s door. Whatever your giving style is, I consider you to do a little something extra for your loved ones this May Day!
